TAUPO HALF MARATHON SPORTS FUND

distributed by TAUPO HALF MARATHON SOCIETY INC.

Over the past 28 years the Taupō Half Marathon Society allocated funding each year with the proceeds it received from the Taupō Marathon and Kinloch Off-road Challenge.

During this time just nearly $500,000 has been distributed to the Taupō District’s sports community by giving:

  • Grants – supporting young sports people achieving at a high level in their chosen sport and sporting groups helping their members reach their full potential.

  • Sponsorships – Inter Primary Schools Cross Country, Taupō Harrier Club’s 5k Series and Waipahihi School’s Ironkidz and Taupō Marathon Scholarship.

  • Keith Crate Elite Scholarship – supporting young people competing at the highest level of their sport.

With the events being sold and having no other income source the funding has sadly come to an end.
