42.2km Marathon
Starting on Tongariro Street and finishing at the Tongariro Domain (Great Lake Centre), the marathon course first heads down Tongariro Street and Roberts Street before starting the first of two laps of the half marathon course.
The course follows the majority of the stunning (31 year strong) half marathon course, with the addition of a loop in the new Ngāroto Estate subdivision. You will head all the way out to the airport roundabout, turning right onto SH1 and continuing out to 5 Mile Bay. From there you will return back along the Great Lake Pathway, 10km of amazing views of the lake and snow-covered mountains. Opposite Taupō Mini Golf on the lake front you will turn around and complete your second lap of the same course, but this time coming all the way back to the Tongariro Domain to finish.
